NPP from various perspectives --IAEA Without sufficient domestic sources of energy, Japan depends heavily on imports. That is, the country’s energy situation is highly subject to changes in international circumstances, as awell as in domestic demand; this sometimes presents challenges to Japan’s energy security. In order to handle these situations, Japan’s energy policy is based on a long term, comprehensive, systematic perspective. In June 2002, the Basic Act of Energy Policy was enforced to steadily implement energy policies. Based on the act, the first Strategic Energy Plan was drawn up in October 2003, followed by the second and third plans in March 2007 and June 2010, respectively. In the third plan, Japan aims to nearly double its self-sufficiency primary energy supply ratio to about 70% by 2030 by domestically developing fossil fuel. However, after the third plan, the domestic and international circumstances surrounding energy changed drastically in the wake of the Great E
NPP from various perspectives --Japanese Government There has consistently been no change to the position that the starting point is to take measures keeping the experience, regrets, and lessons learned of the TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station accident uppermost in mind. We will do our utmost to achieve the reconstruction and recovery of Fukushima while reflecting on and responding to the pain felt by the people affected by the accident at TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. GOJ and nuclear operators must continue to reflect on the fact that they fell into the trap of the so-called “myth of safety”, resulting in the failure to adequately deal with the severe accident and prevent a disaster like this. Around seven years after the disaster, approximately 24,000 people still remain subject to the evacuation order. It is essential to proceed with such measures as compensating for the damage done by the nuclear accident, implementing decontamination work, const

NPP from various perspectives --Japanese marine products industry Today I would like to talk about impact of TEPCO’s nuclear disaster. North Ibaraki city was famous for Shirasu: the young of the sardine, or a white bait. In a year, the port town’s fishermans landed more than 1000 tons of shirasu. A lot of people participated in the marine products industry and fisheries. After the great east japan earthquake and tsunami, a lot of ships and houses were damaged and TEPCO’s nuclear disaster influenced on Shirasu fishery seriously. They quit the work as a fisherman one by one. The most negative effects of that disaster was restriction of fishing area. Around this sea area, off the coast of Fukushima is the greatest Shirasu fishery point. So, in the past, Fishermans in North Ibaragi worked mainly in off Iwaki. After the TEPCO’s disaster, temporary fisheries were closed, but some kinds of fish which were confirmed as a safe :one of them is Shirasu, had been restarted as a test five years

NPP from various perspectives --Japanese protests We strongly disagree with restarting NPP. We have got mainly 3 reasons why we appeal to public opinion. First, we have enough electricity without NPP’s help. After TEPCO’s Nuclear disaster, all NPPs were stopped to generate electricity. Nevertheless, we could have own life without any disablement. Now, only 5 NPPs are in operation but if we stopped all of those NPPs, probably it would not influence on our lives. Thermal power plants and others can supply all of electricity. Second, we should not leave radioactive waste for after ages. Operating NPPs increases in number of nuclear wastes. These wastes are really dangerous and hazardous. Moreover, the places of treating with such toxic wastes especially the wreck of Fukushima NPP are still not decided yet in Japan. The garbage we cannot handle should not be compounded or Japan would be land of toxic waste. Finally, this Japan has a lot of earthquakes which cause tsunami. The main cause o
A general introduction of the issue that this blog will focus on Nuclear power plant argument and other kinds of power plant, energy problem, resources, environmental problem why we chose the topic, After 3.11 TEPCO’s nuclear disaster, we are interested in NPP. what we know about it so far, outline of TEPCO’s nuclear disaster, basic information of NPP and other kinds of PP, pros and cons of NPP, and new energy(methane hydrate, seaweed oil, etc) pros no CO2 stable to supply electricity uranium is cheaper than coal or oil   -electricity charge financial aids helps town to live a nuclear deterrent technical strength cons safety  -earthquake and tsunami toxic waste -place to resort or treat with 40 years limits aim of terrorist attack cost time and money to abolish our current stance on the issue. We agree with restart NPP for some decades operation to find another complete sustainable and earth-friendly
